Is taking Calc in High School Important

Well I'm a Senior and my School Offers Pre-Calc, but since I am in Full-IB I really don't have time to take Calc, with all my other classes and electives. I've taken 4 years of math from 8th-grade to 11th, last year was IB Math, but was wondering if not taking Calc would hurt my chances of getting into a SChool

… well calc is pretty important

but if you just don’t have time for it, i think it should be alright… i’m not sure

What is IB math… do you not learn precalc?

If you don’t take Calc in high school you fail at life.

It isn’t essential to take Calculus in high school if you will not be going into a heavily math or science related major.

I think calc is really important and you should take it because it will also help you freshman year in college

Math is important in college, regardless of your major being math/science-heavy or not. I personally would never go a year in HS without taking math, no matter how far ahead I am or what I have already done. Can you take something like college algebra? At my school, some seniors take CA after pre-calc, while ambitious high achievers go for AP Calc. I’m a junior in AP Calc AB and I plan on taking BC next year, even though it is well beyond normal expectations/requirements in HS.

Calculus in HS will make it easier in college; if you’re good at math (and considering your math background, you ought to be…), you might as well go for it!
