Do I have to take Pre-calculus?

I'm trying to decide if I should take pre-calc next year as a senior. I've already taken 3 years of math (Alg 1, Geometry, Alg2/Trig) and that's all my school requires. However I want to go to competitive colleges (like Northwestern or Swarthmore or Brown) and I heard that you SHOULD take 4 years of math. I'm not very good at math though and would probably get a B, and I plan to major in History. So do you think I should? My counselor wasn't very helpful when I asked :(

Should I take AP Stats instead? I heard it was easier.

I heard some (and thought some) required full 4 years of math. And a B? Lmao. Listen just take the Pre-Calculus or you will regret it.

Also AP Stats is still math…

I would definitely take the pre-calc. No matter where you go (and what your major is), you’re going to need some kind of process-based mathematics as a pre-req, and math is much more difficult after time off. And yes, most highly selective schools want four years of math.
