Ok, so I was thinking about taking a regular level, first year foreign language class online (that they don’t have in my school) because I’m really interested in languages, and I enjoy learning them. However, it will definitely bring down my weighted GPA (I have a 4.8 now, it should be about a 5.0-5.1 by the end of the year, depending on my math grade lol).
So I really want to take the class online out of interest. Will colleges prefer that I took another language (I’m going into my 5th year of spanish next year) since languages are considered a core class to them, or will they look down upon the fact that my weighted GPA will be about 0.1 points lower (and my class rank will probably go from #3 to #10ish)?
Tbh, the only reason I had doubts was because I had friends telling me it was a bad idea… But you’re right, languages are a great skill to have, and I’m interested in them, so it’s worth it!
