Is that ever gonna happen?

I'm a Chinese student who has never studied in any of the english-speaking countries--yes, I spent the entire of my 17 years in China.

I took SAT in Oct, 2007, and I'm intending to apply for 08 fall.

The scores are: 800 for math, 700 for writing with 9 for essay, 600 for reading.

When the detailed score came out, I found out that I omitted one answer in cr, which is weird because i'm pretty sure that I finished all the questions. So the only reasonable answer is that I gridded something wrong. I REALLY WISH I HADN'T DONE IT!!!! or i can get at least 650...

I have already applied to Wharton under early decision and sent this score to penn. Is that ever gonna happen? Me getting admitted?

What should I do? Can I just use this score to apply? or you guys think I need to retake it? If retake it, is that still possible to get registered for SAT in Jan, 2008? cuz i think if i get rejected, I may consider this score low, so i would take it again, but that's gonna be too late if i wait until the result of ED comes out.

Thanks for your suggestions!

800 math.. wohoo that seems to do the trick for wharton. lol jk but i dont think that they ll take it THAT seriously if ure reading is 600. I mean, they ll understand that ure in a different country hence we have the sub 700 score but u have an 800 in math. As long as ure highschool grades were good, u shouldnt have a problem. If they were kinda average - bad and ure extra curriculars werent involved and stuff, then i guess u should retake it to boost ure chances by a little or whatever.

Thank you so much for replying! I go to a high school that is one of the top 5 in China, is that gonna help? My gpa is around 3.8 or something like that. We Chinese student do not really have that colorful EC like American students, but I do a lot of other activities. Is that fine?

You do realize that you have a high school freshman evaluating your chances, right?

You certainly know EC in China doesn't evaluate that much right?

hahaha quaker, how do you know sushant is a freshman?

he's off by a year; sushant is in 10th grade, according to his posts.

You do realize that you have a high school freshman evaluating your chances, right?

What's that?

I think what quaker10 meant was that since none of us are in the admission committee nor affiliated with one, take our evaluation with a pinch of salt.

I think your SAT I is pretty impressive for someone who lives in China (I've heard stuffs from my friends in China that English education there isn't very good unless you are in an international school). But you must know that the competition is tough, especially for Wharton, what with people having near perfect SAT also applying and all. Without knowing your grades, it's hard to evaluate your chances. I think you have as good a shot as most applicants.

I don't think most colleges accept january SATs for regular decision unless you are applying regular decision for fall 2009. If you are, then by all means retake the SAT. Try to get around 2200. Most ivies and some other colleges, Penn included, superscore your SAT, ie. take the highest score from each section for multiple tests so no worries. Furthermore, give more attention to CR because writing section is of lesser importance/not considered in some colleges.

heyyy im a sophmore so chilllll. plus everyones advise counts! ^_^

wait.... did i spell advise right ? ^ ^ ^ .. i suck..

Bad advice is worse than no advice.

I'm outta here, so carry on.

err sorry?
