Is that it for my application?

I just went onto the McGill website and finished my application. It seemed like they didn't require a lot of information. There was no essay, no self report grades, or a list of current courses I'm taking.

Is this normal?
How do I get them to know that I meet their requirements for Engineering?

Thanks in advance :)

Also, I don’t think they ever asked for my GPA on the application too…

I am currently living in the US too, if that is relevant.

McGill will want a transcript from your high school at some point and your SAT/ACT scores.

Yes, for Canadian universities, it is normal to have no requirements for essay, letters, resume, first-born child etc… They will probably want first semester marks at some point and that will tell them what courses you are taking.

Ah, yes. I just got my ID code and its asking for my SAT’s and high school transcript.

My school year is divided into quarters, with two quarters making up a semester. When should I send my transcript? Should I send one in now and then another when my first semester/mid term grades come out?

^I’m wondering the same thing. I don’t know when is best to send in the transcript. Does anyone who is applying or has applied know?

Hi guys, I really need your advice.

I have just finished my application to McGill; after keying in my credit card number and clicking on the button “Pay” on its website, I accidentally logged out of my account.

After a while, I checked with my bank and realised that about 100 odd dollars was deducted from my bank account. Then, I went to my McGill application account and my transaction status was reflected as that I have paid the amount of 100 dollars to them.

So, does this mean that my application is already submitted to them and that they should receive it?

There’s an application for major scholarships where there are places to fill out your extracurriculars and the chance to write an essay. Should I fill this out? I just barely missed the GPA requirement of 95, but that’s because my school does not weight grades. If I factor in my APs, I’m sure I have over 95.

Should I just fill out the application anyways? Or will this negatively impact my chances of a regular admission?

Fill out the application anyways–I assume that by “barely missed,” you are between 94.5 and 95% which they might round to a 95%. Also, your grades may change between now and when they make a decision–it does not require much to take you up a quarter or half a percentage. As well, there are a variety of ways to calculate an average, so if you are close to 95%, I would be inclined to apply, especially if your EC’s and essay are strong.

There will be no negative impact on your chances of regular admission.

Ah, thanks for the advice. My GPA is 94 unweighted, but at the end of this year, I’ll have close to 10 APs. And I think my first semester grades are pretty strong.

Worst case scenario, I just won’t get the scholarship. Still cheaper than most US schools though.

The only problem is, they want interim reports by Jan 21st. My reports don’t come out until about a week after that. Would sending it in then be a problem?
