He's already taken the SAT (very high) and SAT II Bio and AP Bio. Soon he'll take six more AP tests. Costs are adding up! Is there really any value in taking the ACT as well? Highest likelihood he'd be going to a UC. But we'll apply to some private ones too - MIT, Cal Tech, Carnegie Melon, Stanford.

If you think that his SAT as of RIGHT now is fine, then I would say leave it. Also universities also take understanding of EC’s which can play a major role. Good Luck(:

I would say - no. if he is happy with his SAT score and it is on the high end of where he is applying then definitely why bother when he has enough on his plate coming up. My S took his SAT in June as a rising senior (the day after he finished his junior year) and that was it. Done. It was his first time, only time to take it that counted (took SAT as a 7th grader for Duke Tip). It was such a relief to be done with the testing and focus on the college applications. However, my D might take the ACT and see which one she is stronger in. Good luck! BTW, my S is at Carnegie Mellon.

How high are his SATs?
