Is the actual SAT easier than how prep programs portray it to be?

I’ve heard some rumors among my peers that some prep companies like to design their practice tests harder than the actual SAT. Is this true with Elite?
I’m currently enrolled in Elite’s Afternoon Bootcamp, and the tests are a real challenge for me, especially the critical reading sections. From the 3 practice tests I’ve took so far, I’ve been scoring ~1600: ~mid 600 math, ~400 writing, & ~mid 400 reading.
I would like to hear from people that have taken SAT prep courses (preferably Elite) and what score they received on the actual test.

  • Was the test easier than you expected it to be?
  • How much did you improve?

Well most prep places have you take a diagnostic which is difficult so at the end, they administer a really easy test so it appears as if your score has dramatically increased. I personally would expect the prep place to slightly over-prepare you so the real test will be easier.
