if you have been scoring say 700 on math tests in your blue book (part of College Board SAT practice tests), is this accurate? are blue book tests easier/harder? what have you found? should i expect to score similarly on the SAT or take my results from the blue book with a grain of salt?

???

I think it is very accurate as it uses real tests from previous dates.

Tests from the blue book are without a doubt the closest that any test prep book will ever get to the actual SAT’s. I would assume the you’re going to get within the same range on the actual SAT- unless any of your circumstances suddenly change.

If you take them in “test conditions” they should be pretty accurate. Pace is very important.

BB’s tests are the most accurate as practice tests go.

In the second edition, there are 3 retired tests (actual tests kids took).

what are good “testing conditions” to practice in? right now i’ve been taking the tests at the desk in my room with the door shut so no one bothers me…and timed of course. haha

That sounds about right.

I mean if you wanna be really intense about it, you could wait till school starts, wake up hellishly early on a Saturday morning (after a remarkably unintelligent late night on Friday), hating the world and all who inhabit it, groggily stumble around your room getting dressed and collecting some pencils and a calculator. Then you could make your way to your desk, set your timer, and try to take the test.

Either that, or accept the fact that you will do just as great on the real SAT as you have been doing on your practice exams and put it all out of mind.

Of course, if you’re not satisfied with what you’re scoring from the blue book exams, you can improve your score first.

i didnt find the scale on that book that accurate. the score range is pretty big and most times i still scored 10 or 20 points below the lower range

The questions and the scores in that test are as accurate to the real test and scores you’ll ever get. They are much more accurate than any 3rd part book and probably the only ones you should trust.

If you’re getting 700 in the BB tests, then you’ll most probably get something close to that in the real test too. Unless you improve your weak areas by re-reading that area in the reference book you have.

And yes, the conditions you are taking the test in seem to be pretty good. Continue that way.
