Is the date you submit your app a large factor in acceptance?

I just submitted my app for UT yesterday afternoon...I know it's less than a week before the deadline, but I don't think it's too terrible? I also applied for BHP and Plan II Honors. Completed Plan II, but still waiting on my teacher to send in the rec letter to complete the BHP app. My transcript still has yet to be processed, according to my status, even though I sent it in at least two weeks ago. I'm kind of freaking out.

Any answers or consolation would be great!

If you sent in your transcript two weeks ago I’m pretty sure they’ve received it, process date will not make your application late.

The later you submit your application for Plan II the more competitive it becomes because they have less spots.

BHP may do the same, but they will obviously review applications as they com in, so you may just have to wait longer to hear back. The waiting will apply for Plan II as well.

Thanks Krissy! I was just a bit concerned since a friend of mine told me that her essays took a while to process while mine only took a few hours, so I was thinking since my transcript was being processed later than my essay they may not have received it yet.

You could call admissions to double check too. Just explain you sent it in two weeks ago and your other stuff was processed, so you were wondering if they received it and it hasn’t been processed yet. :)

Yeah, I was planning on doing that. I also had a typo on my extracurriculars I was going to correct, so I was going to call in about that anyway. Thanks again!

@imazingg, I am a Student Recruiter with the Business Honors Program and the Official Final Deadline for all materials to be received by the BHP is December 6th. This means, we want you to have initiated an application by December 1st, but can wait for the entire application (e.g. transcript and letter of recommendation) to arrive by Tuesday, December 6th.

Best of luck with both BHP and Plan II!

Ah, thank you! That makes me feel a lot better. :)
