Is the University a 'target' school for any investment banks?

Lots of 'Chance me' threads (not that these are bad, I have one myself) figured I would add some variety.

Is the University considered a target, semi target, or non target when it comes to wall street-esque investment banks. Do any major banks conduct on campus recruiting for internship positions? I have heard wonderful things about the Maryland business school however I almost never see it listed as a target or semi target for recruitment. It seems to be over shadowed by competitors such as UMich, NYU, and Northwestern when it comes to larger schools (other than ivy's). Additionally if anyone has any information regarding this subject from a Penn Stater's perspective that would be awesome too.

Considering Maryland and PSU (and UMich) as my top schools and I would love to see how their career recruitment and on campus recruiting stacks up against one another. I notice on the business schools website it says that recent grads have been hired/interned by Morgan Stanley however I was unsure if that was significant.

I would love to get into umd but it’s a complete non-target it’s not even semi

Not even close. But if you get great grades, you could get into a prestigious MBA program, which would be a target for banks.

I dont know what you mean by “target school” exactly, but I do know that I was recruited by Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley as Computer Science major. I wasnt interested in a banking/finance position, but I know several people that ended up with internships with Goldmans Sachs and internship offers from Morgan Stanely. For what it is worth, they all ended up accepting full-time positions with Goldman Sachs.
