Is the UPenn Summer Program Worth It?

I am a college sophomore and I want to take some courses during the summer at UPenn. I currently go to a $32,000 private school that's honestly not that great or high ranked. I was wondering if taking summer courses at UPenn would be a good reference for jobs/employers? I know it's expensive so that's what I'm worried about. Though my college is expensive, I've only taken out a $9000 loan for my sophomore year with interest free rates until 10 years after I graduate from College. The rest was paid in grants and scholarships. I know I haven't spend much compared to what most people I know have, so I kinda don't mind spending it at UPenn, but I will only do so if it's really worth it and useful as a reference.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, look into LEAD.

I don’t think overall it’s really worth the money. Summer should be used to make money to help offset the cost of college.

In general, summer programs that require a competetive application/admission process are more valuable for your future college applications. At Penn, you pay and you play. On the other hand, it’s a great experience if you’re interested in the offerings, location, etc., i.e. for the experience itself. I know someone who took the class “Physics of Roller Coasters” and the “graduation ceremony” involved going to a theme park!

Sorry, I thought you were referring to summer programs for high schoolers.
