Is the USC SIR Binding?

Hello Everyone! I just sent in my SIR to USC because of the fact that the deadline is tomorrow. However, I just received my financial aid for another school and wish to go there instead (not that i wouldn't love to be a trojan). How do I go about doing this? Is this possible? Thank you everyone.

I am wondering the exact same question, please help!
May first is TODAY for me.

whats a SIR?

Statement of Intent to Register. I actually don’t think it’s binding, but I’m not 100% sure.

The only “binding” part about it is that you will not get your deposit back. Just let USC know as soon as possible that you will not be attending - there should have been a response card included in your admission materials. Fill it out and drop it in the mail, or call admissions, or email.

(And generally, posting your question once is sufficient, rather than three times… )

Good luck at the school you chose!

Thanks Alamemom.

Today however, is a weekend and USC’s office is closed. So whats the next best option?

Send in a written request to cancel the SIR?

An email is fine, or a letter if you can’t find your response card, or even a FAX. Be sure to include your USC ID# and contact information in case they want to verify it is you rather than someone cancelling your enrollment without your knowledge. If the email is sent from the same email account you used for your application that should verify your identity sufficiently.

Where did you decide to attend, Jhnboy?
