Is there a big difference between high 700s and a perfect 800?

I took the SAT Subject test Math Level 2 in December, as a junior taking Calc BC (never took pre-calc because my previous school had a weird math system).
I guessed I wouldn’t have to study for it so I just glanced over the important equations before the test and got a 780.
I guess it was a fairly easy test as my percentile is 74%…

When I received the scores, I took some practice tests online (should have done this before…) and got 800 on two of them with over 5 minutes remaining so maybe if I retook it I’d get a perfect score?

Would competitive schools (such as Yale, Penn, Michigan…) notice a huge difference in the 20 points?

I think they would. SAT II Math has a very generous curve, and lots of people have gotten 800 on it.
If you’re confident about getting an 800, then go for it. This is just my opinion though.

If you get up to 8 questions wrong, its still an 800. I would retake and make sure you dont get hit by the 790
