I always thought "Law Firms=corporate thing, big money-making". But I found that within a big big law firm, there is such practice areas as "Employment, Labor Law"-among them is 'collective bargaining' in which I have a great interest.

Then, is there a big income(salary) gap between this labor law area and that corporate, financial practice area within a same big law firm? If so, how large is that gap?

No, at least at the associate level, there is no gap at all. Every associate at a biglaw firm makes the same salary as others with the same level of seniority. Whether the profits are divided differently among the partners, I don't know. At some firms, I'm sure there is a gap between partners in different practice groups.

Just remember that in most cases, when it's in a large law firm with lots of different departments, you're usually representing management, not the unions nor individual employees.
