Is there a book or online guide that list scholarships

What guide do you recommend for researching scholarships? Is there a comprehensive list ? Thanks

No, there isn’t. But free advice…the best scholarships you can get are usually from colleges to which you are accepted. So…make sure you apply to colleges where your stats make you eligible for auto merit, or where you have a decent chance for competitive merit aid.

Thumper1, that is really interesting thanks!

Are you a high-school senior? I was on the hunt for merit this year, and applied to a lot of full-ride scholarships/applied for consideration for full-rides! The deadlines have passed for those so if you’re applying this cycle you won’t be able to apply, but if you’re a junior or some other class I could definitely list some for you. Also depends on your stats though.

Schools like Alabama, Ole Miss, Arizona, and Mississippi State are amazing for merit. Offer full-tuition scholarships or 1-2k less than full tuition.

There are scholarship search engines such as fastweb but both @thumper1 and @secretslytherin are both correct.

My son applied for 15-20 outside scholarships. They are a waste for most.

Both my kids got $$ from my employer scholarship. And you might find local businesses or organizations that offer them. They often get few applicants and are possible. I turned a friend into a $500 local one for an need student and her child won.

Run scholarship searches for your city, religion, etc but stay away from the big national ones. And if your parents are employed with large corporations, see if there’s an opportunity there.

But your best bet is to ‘assume’ any moneys you get will be from the schools themselves and focus on building a list based on what a school will cost (with possible or definite merit) and assume zero will come from the outside, even if you try.

I am the mom in this scholarship search. But, I loved thinking for a moment I was a teenager! I appreciate all the guidance. It seems like a giant lottery.
