Is there a nearby train or metro at U of I that travels to the northwest suburbs of Chicago? If so, where is it by the campus? Thanks.

The Amtrak station is about a half mile from campus, and is easily accessible by the many buses that serve the campus. It will pull into Union Station in Chicago. Commuter trains (Metra) to the NW Suburbs can then be boarded either from Union Station, or from the Ogilvie Transportation Center (2 blocks away). Check schedules to coordinate the trains.

In addition, LEX and Suburban Express buses stop at many locations in Chicago and the suburbs, and you can catch them from locations much closer to your dorm.

Thanks for the great answer, I really appreciate it!

Where exactly can I catch the LEX and Suburban Express buses near the dorms? So they travel from the dorms to the suburbs?
