Other than doing some practice tests, is there a need for preparation like the way people do for SAT?

I found the english part to be similar to the writing section of SAT which require no preparation if you know your stuff. Math is the same. Science would be something that comes easy to science people.

I was wondering the same thing.... and I was thinking of taking it this June (though the deadline to sign up is steadily approaching). If I were to take the ACT, I wouldn't have to submit my score to any schools if I didn't want to right? Also, if I were to take it twice, colleges only see the one score that I choose to send to them, right?

i did the hardcore prep for the SAT like everyone else and my highest score was always reading comp on the practice tests, so my tutor suggested i take the ACT. i focused all my studying on the SAT and took it on April 1st. then i went out and bought 2 books, the real ACT prep guide and the princeton review for ACT, and took practice tests and read strategies for about a week and took the april 8th ACT. i got a 33 sans tutoring and strongly suggest that people take it once without because colleges dont know that youve taken it unless you tell them and even if you take it 5 times they only see the one test date you want them to see. so dont waste your money on tutoring until you see how you do on your own.

well my friend has almost the same story. he scored a 1200 on the old sat 1 but got a 27 on the ACT, can anyone tell me how the act questions come and on what subjects. pllleeeeeeease.
