i got waitlisted at mount holyoke but accepted to other places i like more. aid is also extremely important, and waitlisters, if they get off the list, don't really get good aid, right? i'm not really in love with mt holyoke and i would choose either of my acceptances over it, so should i just decline the spot on the wait list? this may be a dumb and obvious question, but i just wanna make 100% sure i should before doing it.

If you don’t anticipate Holyoke coming back with a package that changes your mind about your current choice, then YES, decline the WL invitation. Otherwise it’s a time-waster for all involved.

If you would accept either of your acceptances over Holyoke, then don’t waste your time with the waitlist. You’d just take away a spot from someone who might consider that school their first choice. Best of luck!

i was just wait listed at occidental, too, so i guess i’ll follow the same protocol. thanks!!
