plus i really need Financial Aid (reason why appyling to princeton in ED)

this is my second chance me post but i am really nervous and have changed my choice about ten times. Sorry for the inconvenience caused but i really need some advice on which univ. to finalize… thnks :)

Honestly, no one can chance you better than you can chance yourself. Everyone has a chance. If you feel you have a chance to actually get accepted, then dont let anyone stop u from applying. I heard a lot of criticizm but realized no one really knows my application or understood my grading system. I feel i have a chance so im applying (not princeton, other top tiers).

If u want my opinion though, i say u have a good chance, just apply.

nik every year Princeton club of India hosts a dinner of sorts and posts the name of all those who get every year from india ( google: princeton club of India class of 2017) so after finding their names check out their school websites which will have a list of their achievements and see if your extra curricular activities are in the same league as for the SAT the average scores were unfortunately 2300 ish…
your FA will not affect your as Princeton’s got $17 bil… in the bank

Odds are low. However make back up plans and if P really is your first choice try. Rather than your sat scores though I think your EC’s don’t set you apart enough.

savemylife thanks i will google it and try to match them
MYOS1634 yeah i too thought of that that’s why i wrote this chance thread. but is applying for ED helps ?

just so u know ED doesn’t increase chances…its due to self selection by students

If you’re one of the top top students, applying ED can help your chances a bit (less competition) but if you’re more a reach, my counselors always suggested waiting for regular admissions. Think of it this way: you’re Princeton, trying to create the best class you can. You get a candidate who could be a good student, but it isn’t necessarily guaranteed. You’re not sure what kind of candidates you’re going to get later or through regular decision so you think “Well I’ll probably put this one on the back burner…” And then you’ve been deferred and will be considered through regular admissions (once you get to this stage having applied early or not should make no difference). So basically: as a reach, your chances of getting into Princeton ED are slimmer but even if you’re denied you won’t be at a disadvantage later, in regular decision.
