Indian student. Got a SAT score of 2320. CR and Math are 770. writing 780. I'm also the winner of the International Fundamental Aeronautics Program High school Competition conducted by NASA. I got a scholarship (given to about 18 people across India annually) in my junior year to study in Singapore for 2 years. I was a classical Indian musician (vocal) when i was in India and I have given plenty of concerts there. After i came to Singapore, i was a member of the College soccer team which went to Vietnam. Also, i was the captain of the Robotics team that represented the college. won lots of awards there. I am the Track and Field representative of my house. But the problem is, i don't have a sustained community service record, nor any work experience. I've got i think about 100 hours of service, but it's not to one particular organisation... My academic record is ok-ok. I'm always in the top 10% of my class... Got really good recommendations, an outstanding essay.

These are my major achievements... i've got lots of achievements in India. In fact, the scholarship that I got to India is really selective (cause, well, they choose only 18 to 20), and they require ECA's and great academics and all that... so it's pretty much like a college admissions process too...

what do you think are my chances to get into Princeton? what's your source?

I’d say you have a better shot than most people, but you can never be sure with schools of that caliber. I’d be surprised if you didn’t at least get waitlisted, though.

Yups, i’ll need financial aid. though, as i understand it, Princeton is need-blind? even to international students? so that shouldn’t be a problem for me should it?

i know you guys are anxious and all, but i really don’t think chances threads are all that useful unless you are actually planning to take the word of someone you’ve never met before and not apply if (s)he told you that you have no chance. you could also look through decisions threads from past years, right? honestly, how much better are we going to be at gauging your chances than you?

i mean, from this it seems that you’re just looking for affirmation of your greatness

that being said, princeton is need blind to all domestic and international students, but you can find this information by visiting the school’s web page

Remember you are competing against all the other highly qualified Asians in the world. You have great achievements, but may still not be accepted, just due to the numbers. Thus chances are under 10%, like all P’ton applicants.
