So I totally fell in love with Penn after a visit to the campus. And its sort of like falling in love with someone who is WAY out of your league, but its the only school in which I believe the students arnt either idiots, snobs, or drunks. My problem is is that I have been a bit of a slacker in high school so far esp freshman year. Here are my stats,

School
Best Public School in DC (not saying much I know)
Washington DC

GPA: 3.8-ish weighted: 4.1-ish
SATs: too embarassed to even post them
ACTs: taking in Sept
Early Decision: yes
Legacy: no
SATs IIs: not so hot

APs: Bio ?, His ? Eng ?

heres where it gets a bit better:
Activities:
11 plays on resume so far
Producer of my schools theater group
Editor in Chief of the Newspaper
Cappies play critic

Awards
National History Day 1st Place State Winner
National Poetry Recititation Contest 2nd Place State Winner
Kennedy Centers Excellence in Performing Arts Award
National Honors Society
Young Playwright winner
and some other drama stuff

Minority Status
African American

I will have fantatic recommendations and I can write a pretty impressive essay.

With better test scores is there a glimmer of hope? Also does anyone know if Penn will care if I dont take Physics?

Penn a place that's not idiots, snobs and drunks? have you even visited?

Nice theater accomplishments. Test scores don't matter so much anymore.

You do need to mention which school you're applying to. Engineering will flat-out reject you without physics experience, but the college may not care at all.

PennHunter, however, I think it works the other way around. If you have everything else, then they just want at or above the average, which is around 2100, I think a bit over, actually.

"but its the only school in which I believe the students arnt either idiots, snobs, or drunks"
You are wrong about this- there are many other schools with smart, serious students. Why not look around a little more?

w/o your test scores, i don't think anyone can give you chances. obviously test scores aren't everything but it's a big chunk. send me a private message if you dont wanna post 'em. i'm black too, and penn is my first choice right now.
