<p>For need blind colleges, is there any point in not applying for financial aid? Even if someone is highly unlikely to qualify for need based aid, should that applicant check the box on the Common App to apply for need based aid anyway? Or is there a negative outcome of checking that box? For reference, some need blind colleges are the Ivies, Stanford, Duke, Williams, and most other top schools.</p>
<p>Have you tried the net price calculator at each school’s web site to get an financial aid estimate instead of guessing about the likelihood or not of getting financial aid?</p>
<p>There have been a couple of semesters that I didn’t submit fafsa in order to save my daughter from loans she didn’t need. She goes to Northeastern and has had a couple of semesters of co-ops with no classes and this current semester, only has two classes since she technically has enough credits already , but needed a particular class for her major that is ONLY offered spring semester of senior year.</p>
<p>You would save $16 per school by not submitting the CSS Profile. Other than that, the FA people really don’t talk to the Adcoms.</p>
