2370 sat perfect sat 2s perfect ap scores good ecs, leadership, awards, etc but got rejected by the all the ivies and waitlisted at cornell. is there anyone else who has this problem? idk what to say this sucks, and I want to know how other in my position are feeling right now

Are you Asian American? They are considered Over Represented Minority (ORM) and they need to have 200-300 higher SAT scores than the school’s average to get in. Ivy admissions are a crapshoot and given your stats, you’ll do well at any school. It is what you do at the college that is important, not which college you go to.

Yeah, I’m indian. You’re right, it’s just very tough to deal with this right now. I’ll get over it eventually, and hopefully I can end up thriving at the school I go to.

if everything else is good, you wouldn’t get rejected solely on that factor. OP, you’re just not the individual they were looking for. I’m not saying that as an insult. I mean, for example, Barnard tends to like extroverted girls involved in theater. you could cure cancer, and the college still might just not suit you

Your scores are good, I think you’ll definitely get into a great college…:)

Perhaps in your quest for the perfect app you forgot the reasons you wanted to study at a university in the first place.

Wild gamble here, but colleges value character - they don’t like the applicants who portray themselves as pompous and supercilious. I’m not saying that this is how you’re coming across, but consider reviewing your apps to check that you appear as a human being.

I’m in the same position as you… denied from all ivies, JHU also rejected me and I’m waitlisted at Wash U… oh well atleast I got basically full ride at safety…
