I refused to submit the application till the very last minute as I couldn't stop perfecting my essay. Midway through editing my essay, I realized it was time to submit my application. Hurriedly I copied my half-edited essay instead of my previous essay (which was checked) and submitted my application.

Now after submission, I realized that I have many glaring mistakes on the 2nd essay!

Is there anyway I can edit my submitted essay?

You can always email the UC Processing Center and ask if you can submit any revisions to your applications. They're quite prompt with responses and there's always a feedback number/name so that you can directly call and talk to that person (if you wished to do so that is). However, unless you submitted your application and somehow the essays were completely wiped off the print receipt, I don't think you're allowed to change anything pertaining to the essays. Last year when I applied, I had to make corrections to some of my test scores, and just emailed the corrections to the Processing Center, who in turn forwarded them to the UCs. Now, I'm not quite sure if the UCs even bothered to look at my revised test scores, so I can't guarantee anything.....
