is there are achi community college in NY ?

im asking this question cause i want to go to cc and then get a credit to transfer to

architecture colleges/univeristies!!!

i think its more better if i go to archi community college and then transfer to

colleges/univeristies than just go to regular community college and transfer.

what should i do guys.... is there archi cc in NY or anywhere else near NY ?

CUNY City College has an B.arch program, as does SUNY Buffalo.

Years ago, CUNY had something called the New York City Technical College which had a 2-year associate’s degree in architecture. I have no idea if it exists anymore. Contact CUNY to find out…

New York City Technical College is now called New York City College of Technology. We are conveniently located in Downtown Brooklyn. We are a CUNY college. And we do offer an associate degree in architectural technology and also bachelor of technology degrees in architectural technology and facilities management. Go to [New York City College of Technology - Home](http://www.citytech.cuny.edu) for more info.

i know there’s 4 year archi college…
but is there 2 year archi ?
i mean… i cant go to 4 years colleges or universities, because i droped out HS…
But i got GED diploma…so… ima go to 2 years community college and then… transfer ?
give me an good idea plzzzz

“i know there’s 4 year archi college…
but is there 2 year archi ?”

"And we do offer an associate degree in architectural technology "

an associate degree IS a 2 year degree.

What exactly do you want to do? Drafting or something like that? To become a licensed architect you will need a 5 year B arch, or a 4 year arch degree PLUS a 2 year Masters degree. Does that sound realistic for you? Perhaps another career direction would make more sense?

Maybe you should investigate different fields, instead of posting the same question over and over?

kira0919: I would check out some colleges/universities you are interested in and talk to admissions. Having a GED does not disqualify you from applying or getting accepted to colleges/universities. Check out the two Arctic92 suggested above. Check out also what mforsten suggested. Talk to admissions at those schools you might be interested in and find out what you need to do for admission and how to fill out applications when one has a GED. Do not assume you cannot go to a college/university because you have a GED and dropped out of HS. You may have to put together a portfolio.

…u guys didnt get my point…
"And we do offer an associate degree in architectural technology "
i know… they have 2 year archi degree
what i mean is ‘’ is there 2year community college…that has archi program ‘’ get it ?;;…
im planning to go to 2year community college first, and then transfer after get enough of credit,… i mean, i didnt repeat my question over and over --…the fact is you guys didnt get my point…

It might help if your English was clearer.

It is pointless to go to community college for credits in architecture because almost all architecture colleges will not accept credit for those classes - only classes that fulfill required general education classes and the like. So if you’re seeking to go to a community college… don’t expect to get many credits if you decide to transfer.

And like msheft said, it is possible to get into colleges with a GED.

Hi there so would anyone recommend attending SUNY Buffalo or CUNY then transf to another 4 year college for archi? I am interested in archi/construction.

I’m actually an international student who wants a cheaper education for the first two years. Is this possible? To do archi at a cheaper college/ community college then transferring all related credits?

Thanks
