I've been reading posts at the Vanderbilt site that talks about "grade deflation", which makes it hard for students to get good grades (due to "weed out" courses in premed and maybe law school-bound students). This makes it difficult for Vanderbilt students when they have to apply and compete for graduate school because of their lower GPAs. For those who have gone to ND or whose sons/daughters have gone to ND, is there "grade deflation" at ND that makes it difficult for ND graduates to get into good grad schools? Thanks for your responses!

I'll say it again, 34% of the Class of 2007 went to graduate or professional school, including Harvard, Oxford, MIT, Stanford, Princeton and any other top school you can name. The grad schools know how difficult the undergraduate programs are and take that into account. If grade deflation does exist, it isn't a problem. Shouldn't the people who will be doctors be so smart that they can beat grade deflation anyway? If you do get weeded out, then you just weren't meant to be a doctor and you will find something else that you love.
