I am going to spend approximately 600 dollars on AP tests this year and it would be a godsend if I could find some sort of thing to cover AP test costs. Does anyone know of something like this? Is there a way I can get the fees waived? Anything?

Damn, that's a lot of money. I guess you should ask you AP Coordinator for help or check out this website. AP: Fees

thats.... crazy.
my school pays for all our AP exams.

anhtimmy, you are so lucky. I have to pay $83 to take 1 test.

Same here avman.

Wow, this is so unfair.
This means most smart kids coming from poor communities would have no chance of getting AP Scholar due to financial restrictions.

many schools offer something if you are free or reduced lunch

My school does not "pay" for the AP tests but if you ask for a fee waiver from your AP Coordinator, they might waive your fees depending on your need. Thats how they waived $168 for me last year!

my school pays for about half the price. im having a similiar problem since im taking tests that our school doesnt offer the classes to so they wont pay that half price for me. i wonder if you can get a fee waiver on basis of just taking so many alone?

You can get a fee waiver if you are a low-income student.

At my school (and I think all LAUSD schools) if you qualify for Title I free lunch you get fee waivers, so each test costs $5. If not, you pay the full $84 (that was the cost last year - it seems to go up $2 each year).

So for me this year 7 AP Tests = $602

^ Same.

Wow, this is gonna suck.

Why does College Board make the tests so damn expensive? I bet this turns some kids away from taking a lot of AP's and showing their real potential.
