that has statistics about all the applicants to a college, not just those admitted. The GPA and SAT averages of all or all ED applicants, etc.?

I don't think so because I can't see any reason why they would publish those stats, since anyone can apply, but not everyone can get in. Just curious, why do you ask?

I thought it would be interesting to know the stats on colleges with 25,000 plus applicants who accept very small numbers of them.

It would kind of show you how qualified the average admit was v. the average applicant.

for ivies probably like 90% of applicants would be very similar to accepted, with the 10% just random applicants. i think i read somewhere the harvard admissions dean said he could pick all those he wanted to accept, throw out those applicants, then with the remaining pool could make an equally strong class

^^^^^ Publicity statement made to appease feelings of the hordes rejected each year. Considering how many students apply to the school hoping that sheer luck will pull them through, do you think 90% of the applicants are on the same level?

that's what I was thinking as well.

I'd agree that there are enough qualified kids that apply to Harvard that they could throw out all the acceptances and find a new comparably superb freshman class, but perhaps not eight more superb classes.

I think it would also be interesting to hear about the colleges that have acceptance rates around 30%, the 'attainable reaches' kind of.
