is this a bad idea for my common app essay?

<p>I was exploring trying to find any kind of inspiration for my common app main essay and i saw that one person wrote theirs about disney princesses and it gave me the idea to write about how my life relates to belle from beauty and the beast. i was really excited to write it cuz i loove belle and the story can actually be related to my life in an interesting way. </p>

<p>would that be a bad idea considering its about a disney movie, not a book or something more substantial? and also would that be under the topic: Describe a character in fiction, a historical figure, or creative work (as is art, music, science, etc.) that has an influence on you, and explain that influence.
I would say no but any opinions?</p>

<p>The best topic for you is the one that allows you to be personal, detailed, honest and revealing, that allows you to write an essay that, ideally, no one else could write.</p>

<p>sounds like great idea. its easy to sound pretentious trying to write about a "intellectual" character. if you can be analytical by using beauty and the beast, more power to ya!</p>
