Hi! In a few months I need to take the SAT ll, so I need to make my choice. The problem is that I think I can get good scores (750+) only in Bio or History, and they don’t really have anything to do with each other.
I probably won’t do anything bio-related in college (I’m not a science person), but I like biology. I should also mention that my grades in bio and history in school are quite bad, actually, those are the only subjects where I have bad grades, so I think getting good scores on these would also show admission officers that those grades don’t reflect my true ability.
That being said, should I take bio and history, or isn’t this a good choice?
Thanks!
Other than the colleges and programs (mostly engineering or Wharton) that specifically ask for certain subject tests (mostly Math 2 and/or Chem and Physics), I have seen nothing on any college website or on any blogs or attending numerous information sessions that indicates a preference for one subject vs. another. Biology and History should be fine. Here is a list from a test prep website. http://www.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/subject-test-requirements-and-recommendations/
Hey uesmomof! Thanks for replying! I’m a bit worried that they’ll think I just picked bio just because it was the easiest, since my grades and ECs don’t indicate that I’m interested in this subject at all… I would also like to ask - since I’m an international, and my grades in bio and history are bad, will high SAT scores be enough to prove that I really like and am good at bio and history?
@uesmomof2 When you mentioned Math 2 + Chem or Physics, did you mean either of the sciences, or that some schools ask for both sciences?
(I’ve taken Math 2 and Physics.)
subject tests don’t have to have something to do with each other, and yours are not the worst; the worst would be Latin & Math 2… hahaha
