I have not yet taken the SAT, but my projected scores are around an 1850. (This was based on the PSAT with no prep and I have been prepping now. ) My GPA is a 93 which translates to a 4.0 or a 3.8… Every website says differently. I have been told that my EC’s are great, and I have been known to write a pretty great essay. I will need schools that offer pretty good financial aid. I am thinking about majoring in either communications, journalism, or English. Here are the schools I am considering applying to (feel free to suggest some)
-Boston University
-University of Maine Orono
New England School of Communication
-Bates, Colby, or Bowdoin (or 2, or all 3.)
-George Mason University
Syracuse? Iowa?
I live in Maine and would like to stay in New England most likely!
So I haven’t really looked into schools in other places! But I’m definitely open for suggestions !
Trinity college in Hartford and Connecticut college in new London both meet need and your stats fall within their range. Connecticut is actually score optional.
Boston gives good aid to high stats kids and/or the ones they really want.
Be sure to run the net price calculators for each school you’re interested in to make sure it’s affordable before getting too emotionally invested.
@neatoburrito thanks for the suggestions! I ran the net price calculator for BU and they actually gave me better aid than the University of Maine Orono, which is my states flagship school.
There is a chart on the BU website that has probability of getting the estimated aid based on stats. Look at it carefully to make sure.
