Is This A Full Ride? (Seton Hall University)

Here is what my financial aid package looks like:

TOTAL SCHOLARSHIP: $92,000
UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP: $88,000 ($22,000 per year)
SUMMER SCHOLARSHIP: $4,500 ($1,500 per year)

The tuition and fees at this school is $38,072
With room, board, and other fees included, the total cost of attendance is $53,294-$56,890

Incoming freshman received $22,476 average in grant aid (I’m unsure if this is the total amount or yearly)

Update:

DIRECT SUBSIDIZED LOAN: $3,500
DIRECT UNSUBSIDIZED LOAN: $2,000
FEDERAL WORK STUDY: $2, 600
SHU NEED BASED GRANT: $2,000
ESTIMATED NJ TAG GRANT: $12,438
FEDERAL PELL GRANT: $5,920
UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP: $22,000

This all only for the year 2017-2018

That is not a full ride. The university is offering you $24000/year need based and merit based grants. They are estimating you will get $18K from Pell grant and NJ TAG grant. That leaves a gap of $11K-$15K/year or more if their Pell and NJ TAG grant estimates are off.

@alaw I don’t think that’s full ride. I got $94500 in four years but the remaining amount is still alot. Are you international?

Nope. It’s about 50 k to go to shu if dorming. So you would have to pay 30 k still. But if you are commuting it’s a decent deal.
