Is this a good future schedule??

Hello im currently a sophomore. I plan on going to college for computer programming or science. I only have 2 years left of high school so i need to make my schedule count! Do you think my future schedule is good enough?

This year i only took 2 tech classes
Design Drawing Production (DDP)
Basic Woods

For next year i plan on taking (Junior)

Ceramics
Civil Engineering & Architecture
Computer Graphics (Half Year)
English 11 Regents
Chemistry Honors
U.S History Honors
Algebra 2N :(
Gym (Not sure which one)
Maybe a other tech elective but i cant remember.

Classes i plan on talking 12th grade if next year goes good!

Comp Programming 1 and 2
AP Economics
AP P.I.G/gov
Digital Electronics or Principles of Engineering (I hope both if i have space)
Astronomy
Honors Physics
Web Design And Dev( I might be taking this next year but i forgot)
Advanced Woods(Took Basic Woods this year)
Not sure which math yet
If i have room in my schedule i will take more tech classes.

Thanks for reading and if you have any suggestions please reply!! :) THANKS

Pretty good. Try adding another ap and after algebra 2 you should take pre claculus

@tigerman333 Thanks for the response!

bump

Have you taken any programming courses?

@tooty44‌

No not yet. my school only offers comp programming 1 & 2 which im talking in 12th grade ( i wanted to take it junior year but i needed room for Civil Engineering & Architecture). They usto have AP comp science but sadly they removed it since no one took it. :frowning: I am also talking web design and Computer Graphics either next year or senior year(i know im talking on of those this year).

Also over this summer i will take some online classes on EDX. I already saw a online java class there which gives out a certificate, planning on taking a couple of online classes this summer.

Thanks for the response!

try taking algebra 2 over the summer, or pre-calc next summer, so that you can take Calculus during your senior year.

@College123college‌

hey thanks for the response!

Ill try to do my best in algebra 2 this year. I am sure i will get over a 90 avg since i am really good at algebra! And ill take pre-calc over next summer! Thanks :)

Depending on the colleges you’d be applying to, reaching Level 3 in a foreign language would be better.
You must have English your senior year.
You do not need Astronomy senior year.
Not sure that Advanced Woods is necessary but if you like it, why not?
(Selective colleges want to see 4 years of English, Math at least through precalculus, preferably Calc if you intend to major in a STEM field, 4 social science/history, Level 3-4 of a foreign language, 3-4 years of science including biology, chemistry, and physics, especially if you’re going to major in stem.)

Hey thanks for the response! I would have loved to take Foreign Lang till 11th grade but i am HORRIBLE at the foreign lang, i took Spanish. I was very close to even passing Spanish in 9th grade.
And Advanced woods i prob wont take in senior year, it depends on how much space i have. Also for Astronomy i do want to take it if i have room. Even though i don’t need to take it. And sorry forgot to put English for 12th grade (gonna try to get over a 95 next year so i can take AP English in 12th)

And since i have to take Alg 2 Non-regents next year i wont be able to get the advanced dip. So i would have to take Alg/trig Regents probably next summer at my local college and then pre-calc 12th (in order to get the advanced diploma)

Yeah, definitely if you want to study computer programming or something in the sciences, you’re going to have to take as much math as you can and, to be frank, like it. If you don’t like math, I wouldn’t recommend pursuing something that is rather math heavy.

ya computer Science/programming involves a lot of math, but i do like math i just suck at geometry. (And i had a really bad geometry teacher, half the class failed). But i am really good at alg, had a 95 final avg in ALG ( 9th grade)
