Okay. Just to clarify, I don't want to pursue engineering- I want to pursue English. I like math, and the only science I really don't mind is physics. I hate bio and chemistry. I took accelerated Physics and I liked it and did well.

what I wanted to know is, is this doable? Is this smart? I want straight A's, but I also want a challenging-looking load.

You can probably pull of straight As. Our teacher gave us AP FR as tests ALL YEAR so very few of us got As. If your teacher isn't cruel and allows you to do some sort of test corrections then go for it. If your going into English there really isn't any reason to Take Physics C. Physics B is really meant for those not majoring in science. Unless you really love physics and can do basic calculus, settle for B.

Is your courseload doable? Hmm. Do you know of anyone at your school who has had a similar schedule? If so, maybe you should talk to them and get their input. It's unrealistic to think that you would be able to take the five APs (and get all As), have a social life AND do community service or participate in ECs. Taking those five APs might look good on a college application, but unless you have AWESOME time management skills or are willing to live on an hour of sleep per night, managing that kind of courseload is going to require some sacrifices. You might have to be willing to accept a B now and then, for the sake of your sanity.

If your goal is to get straight A's then take less AP's.

It would be VERY difficult for you to get straight A's, especially in the first quarter/semester. For me, i always seem to start off weak, and end the school year with all A's (which compensates for the 1st semester grades)

^ Really? I'm the opposite. I start off strong and then I get weaker.

My entire grade is forced to take AP English and AP US History. The entire 11th grade takes them. I can't change math, so there's another AP. My French level puts me in AP French, so the only thing that I really have any control over is science. I've already taken Bio, Chem and Physics. I hated Bio and Chem, so I'm stuck with AP Physics or AP Enviromental because I have to take a science... And I like math, so I'm thinking that Physics might be better for me.

Why do you guys have to take AP English and US just out of curiosity? A lot of students simply can't handle that course load unless you go to a magnet school or something.

Romaninan, I was actually forced to take those two class (US and History). Initially, I wanted to just take U.S History, but the two courses came as a packaged deal. I am happy that I decided to take AP English though; it was certainly beneficial.

Lol how do they come as a packaged deal? Personally, I don't see the connection between the two. I am looking forward to taking AP English next year as well, even though our APE really is hellish.

I have a friend at a Catholic school nearby whose curriculum worked that way too. The packaged deal stinks for those who excel in history, but don't love English or vice versa.

Mine isn't that bad, the most i can take is 3 AP's because of schedualing conflicts.

Ap Eng
APUSH
AP Psych ( i really wanted bio but its two periods and it wont fit in my sched)
French 7,8 honors (no AP)
Honors Pre Cal
Physics Honors
Gym/Health
Law Class
