m currently a junior and I'm trying to pick classes for my senior year. Colleges always say that they want to see a rigorous schedule for seniors. Does this course selection seem rigorous enough?

art history

film literature

honors government/honors

AP calculus AB

AP environmental science

sculpture (double period)

PE

possibly AP art portfolio meets once a week after school, I'm debating whether or not to take it)

These are all classes that I really want to take, but i'm a little worried since I took more challenging classes this (junior) year, and I could conceivably take more AP classes. This year I took AP Bio, AP language and composition, AP US history, pre-calc, anatomy, sculpture, and PE. I can't swap any other classes for another science. I've already taken regents level earth science, living environment, chemistry, and physics. I dropped language last year ( i don't have enough periods in the day to take a language, since ap bio is double period), and I'm not allowed to start a new language. I've also take AP world history, I have very good grades, and I take all honors classes. So, do you think my classes for next year look alright?

What colleges do you plan on applying to?
Not having a language will limit the number of colleges you’ll be able to apply to, since most selective colleges require 3 years but expect 4 years. You should do your utmost to take a language next year.
I would recommend taking AP art portfolio and AP art history if that’s available. AP environmental science is a “soft” AP but since you’re obviously going for an arts or humanities degree, it may not matter, or you may take another subject without penalty. Is PE a requirement? Can you take it online from home and take something else during that period?

I’m actually interested in science, but I go to an art high school so I’m required to take 1 double period art class as well as art history. Because of this (and the fact that my school is very poor and does not have that many language classes), I literally cannot take a language next year; it’s against school policy, and there are not enough periods in my day. PE is an in school requirement. I could take organic chemistry instead of AP environment, but it’s not AP and I think i want to major in environmental science in college.

also I forgot to say I’m taking health (which is also a requirement, it’s one semester)

Can you take the language at a community college over the summer?
Doesn’t your school offer AP Art History (rather than just “plain” art history) since it’s a specialty art school?
Do they offer science drawing or something like that?
I think Organic Chemistry would be better than Environmental Science but if you are thinking about Environmental Science then AP ES would make sense. (Be careful to major in Environmental Science not Environmental Studies - you can add Environmental Studies classes to your ES major, but jobs are for ES majors.)
