I applied to UConn for the upcoming spring semester. My GPA when I applied was a 2.86 and I just applied as a reach as my mother pushed me to just try. I sent in the app and everything about a week before the deadline. Now a month later I have heard back from the 3 other schools I applied to so I called the admissions office to see when I would hear back and they said I would hear a decision in a week. Then this week I receive a letter saying they would like to see my midterm grades before they can make a decision. My midterm grades averaged out to a 3.0.

Is this a good sign? I ask this because if they did not want me they would have rejected me right away and not asked for my midterm grades..and the fact that my midterm grades average to higher than my current GPA. I know they did not ask everyone for their midterm grades as a couple classmates I know who applied did not get the letter in the mail.
