To apply to transfer...or not to apply

Not sure if this is the correct section, but it would be moved if not, and I feel a lot of people would see this here! I really need your help CC community!

That is the question.

With time running out, I have practically everything complete to apply for transfer to Vanderbilt in fall 2013, but I'm second guessing myself.

My GPA is average at the moment, a 3.0 after my first college semester. I know this semester will raise my GPA, but I'm worried that I won't get accepted since they (mostly) accept people before my next semester will be over, so they wouldn't see those grades until I've already been rejected. I really, really want to get accepted, and I feel like getting rejected once for transfer would hurt my chances if I was to apply again in latter months/years.

Please help!!

Thank you!

If you have everything ready, just do it. If your grades are good this semester, send the mid-semester report.

Thanks for the advice, it’s just I don’t want to waste over $50 on application fees, transcript fees, etc, if I’m not going to get accepted. Also, If I get rejected, I feel it would hurt my chances if I was to apply again in a different semester. Further, is the mid-semester report really a good indication of how you will finish the semester? I don’t think it is, so in my mind they wouldn’t really take those grades to seriously.
