Is this a rigorous enough course load?

I am in the process of getting things sorted for my senior year, is this a rigorous enough course load? BTW I am home-schooled.

Senior:
AP English (online)
AP American Government (online)
AP Micro/Macro Economics (online)
Spanish 3 (online)
Pre-Calculus*
Conceptual Physics w/lab*
Intro Psychology*
Anatomy and Physiology*

*Taken through dual enrollment at local Community College.

Would statistics be better than the pre-cal? I don't think I will be able to get calculus in...

What are you thinking of majoring in? The answer should drive your decision on pre-calc vs stats.

I am not completely sure yet, currently I am exploring an interest in pharmacy.

Why don’t you take ENG 111 and 113 over AP English and is AP American government year long? If so, you could just take POL 120.

Unless I’m mistaken, your schedule is going to look like this:

AP English
AP American Government
AP Microeconomics
MAT 171
MAT 171A
PHY 110
PHY 110A

AP English
AP Macroeconomics
Spanish 3 (online)
MAT 172
MAT 172A
PSY 150
BIO 165

Oh, and have you taken the math placement test yet?

I have not taken the placement test yet.

I wanted to have some AP classes as well as the college classes just some more ways to show I a capable and my grades are legit, especially since I lowish SAT score.

Well I’m just saying that your English is year-long and will only give you credit for ENGL 101 (assuming it’s Language and you get at least a 4) and you could take ENG 111 and 113 and get credit for ENGL 101 and 102 and have your composition requirement out of the way.

I see what you mean though, but I’ve just decided I’m going to forgo AP classes altogether.

Hey, if FA isn’t an issue, why not take an online class with UNC?

Can’t, I’ve already missed the deadline.

corey, I think your courseload is fine…just went through the PharmD/pre-pharm admissions process this year with my D. One thing that you can do to make your app stand out for any of the health sciences is to get some shadowing experience. Even a few days will help as they’ll see you’ve put some time, effort, and thought into selecting the program as a major.

Definitely take pre-calc…Calculus is required for all pharmacy schools and your math/science grades are paramount. The physics you take at CC may not transfer though, unless it is calculus based, and most pharmacy schools would prefer you take your sciences there, or at least from a 4 year college. Be careful with those CC sciences, the grades you get WILL count toward your gpa calculation for PharmCAS.

Getting the core electives out of the way - English, History, Econ, Psych - is a good plan.
