First post here, but a long time lurker.
I'm not expecting much response, but just one reader would be a tremendous help!

When I first started, I wasn't writing a college app essay. It was more or less a journal entry about a very, very recent personal event.

I never considered submitting this essay because it seemed too much like a typical "sob story". But my classmates gave very favorable reviews to this essay in an anonymous college app essay activity.

I haven't decided yet where I would submit this and whether I should even submit it in the first place.

When I was in my craetive writing class last year I wrote these journalism/memoir essays about middle school bullying. My teacher loved it and insisted I use it as my essay for my application to my school's peer counseling program. But..it depends on the way you write it...talk about how it affected you, how it made you stronger, and how it helped who you are now. Don't whine...don't act like victim-ish...it's all about how you work your writing
good luck
can i ask what the topic is??? And where you're applying to? (PM?) It's important to also consider the college, how intimate/impersonal/conservative//liberal/religious/etc they are because that could affect what kind of essay topics they value.
