For the "my world" essay (Describe the world you come from for example, your family, community or school and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.) I was thinking about writing about my Tri-Citizenship (America, England, New Zealand) and how I often travel between the three countries. I had never really thought that it was particularly unique, but I suppose it has the makings of something great, especially since ill be majoring in international relations.

I had initially thought about taking the somewhere metaphorical (like i know a girl who wrote about play-doh and how she lived in a world of it), but I thought the idea of a Tri-cit international relations major might end up working even better.

Anyway, feedback would be nice, as well as anything you think could add to the essay.
Thanks in advance.

Well, that’s a good idea, but honestly, I think, that a lot of people will be thinking about writing about similar topics. However, if you do decide to stick with this topic, I would say that how you write about it is more important than what you actually write about. The topic might be somewhat common, but if you write about it in a unique and personal way, then it might just work :)

^Mmmm, I’m afraid that there is going to be a lot of “I live in a multicultural household and I go to (insert country here) a lot.” essays. So I’m leaning away from writing it about that (esp. since America, NZ, and England are basically the same culturally). However, do you think it would be a stronger essay if I wrote about the political aspect of being a tri-citzen, and how that shaped my interest in international relations. I think taking it from a political standpoint would make it more unique, and therefore, a more interesting read. Opinions?

I think all that jazz about the politics of it would be really interesting. Better than your first idea. But you could try to combine them, you know, starting out with the first then morphing into the second. I don’t know. Just an idea.
