Is this bad for college

I had sruggled junior year first semester will mental illness and it cost me. But overall so far sophmore year was the best gpa for me.
My freshman year was very very very bad.
My sophmore was 2.8 and junior year if i finish smoothly with good regents scores it will be 2.6. Will the slight drop hurt me a lot. My junior year second semester will probably be 3.0 which is the highest average i had in all 3 years of high school. Will the drop from sophmore year to really bad first semester hurt me, do colleges take note of my second semster which i most likely will recieve 84 or 85 average.

Do they take note from the very bad grades first semster to picking it up in second semester.

You know what? It is what it is. Your struggle with mental health issues isn’t uncommon. Lots of people have walked in your shoes and gotten into good colleges.

My daughter has anxiety issues and, like you, doesn’t have the world’s highest GPA. And that’s OK-- there are plenty of schools that will be a good fit for her.

We’ve set a 4 hour radius-- roughly Boston to Baltimore. (Your mention of Regents tells me that you’re in NY too.) There are SO MANY Great schools in our part of the country… start next week (after the Regents are over!) to look at them.

To answer your questions, colleges like to see growth. So an improvement in grades is a good thing.
