Most of application is above average except for one thing. I am a full candidate for the IB diploma and I may be predicted 5 or 6 for IB HL Math (everything else is 7). Normally, I wouldn't be worried because I know 40 or 41/42 is still a great score but I am applying for Wharton?

How bad is a 5 or a 6 in Math HL (I think it is the equivalent of getting 3 or 4 in Calculus BC)?

in the grand scheme of things, it’s a small part of your application and shouldn’t matter. I’m pretty sure some of my classmates can’t add double digit numbers without the use of a calculator let alone find a derivative…

I do well in competitions, but in class tests that determine the predicted grade, I always **** up. I’m just worried because I thought Wharton was very math-centric - if it was English I wouldn’t really care.

I hope my Math competitions and 800 in Math SAT II make up for it.

I did both the IB and the AP. Lol, a 5 in HL math is like a 5 in calc in my opinion. Relax.

Based on my performances in everything math related other than the tests themselves, I should be getting a 7, but I’m not. Most probably I will be predicted a 6 (touch wood).
