I have a friend who at another university majoring in Electrical Engineering. He's taking 9 classes next semester, and at his university it's looked down upon to take less than 6. And he maintains a good GPA and has his fun as well. I mean I thought 5 classes was hard but 9 is just insane at least to me. The reason I guess he takes so many classes is because he's getting a Bachelors of Engineering (not a BA or BS) and he's in a co-op program. It still seems kind of nuts to me though.

If he can do it, then good for him.

what university?

What kind of "courses"?

that sounds crazy to me. Maybe they're all really little classes?? My school has an engineering school in it (a very good one, too) and they're only allowed to take 5 classes, max.

These are not easy courses by any means. They're advanced math/science courses. There might be two easy easy classes in there (which are probably liberal arts classes). I'll see if I can get the list from him. And the school is Stevens Institute of Technology by the way.

sounds really crazy, but I guess if he thinks he can do it...

Are they all regular credit hour courses?

Well he did it last year which is the crazy thing. I think he had like 21 credits a semester he told me. That's like 6-7 classes at least a semester. When he told me that I was like holy crap *** man! I wonder if it's like that at most engineering-based schools.

And yes they are regular credit hour courses.

I couldn't help it but laugh when he told me what kind of schedule he was going to have next semester. Needless to say sometimes his last class will be at night.

at my school you have to petition to take more than 18, and then you can only go to 20.

If he can do it, go for it... but I think the time would be better spent involved in other things around campus.

is he trying to finish in half the normal time or something?
