Is this EC considered strong?

I play piano, and I'm Asian (who could've guessed...). However, we all know there are millions of kids all across the nation who are amazing at piano. Are these awards/distinctions for piano considered strong or are there tons of other people with similar or better ones?

-Performed in Carnegie Hall 7 times after winning Gold in several competitions
-Played in several other concert halls in NY after winning smaller competitions
-Passed Grade 8 ABRSM (highest level) with distinction
-Qualified to enter a competition in Paris... ended up competing and won Gold
-Performed several times for nursery homes and day care centers
-Planning on getting several of my pieces professionally recorded and selling them
-NOT ranked statewise or nationally

Sorry if this seems like a bragging thread. I'm genuinely worried because I know tons of Asian kids who are way better than me.

7 times??? Did you enter through the American Fine Arts Festival?

@Rain202: Nope. I did Golden Key Music Festival.

pffft. only 7 times?!? you should get at least 10 to stand out. you’re not even ranked nationally for crying out loud! -_-

*note: ^I was kidding  but seriously, you need to get more confident about your EC’s. geez. those are amazing

@HerroThere

Those are good EC’s. Are you planning to major in music?

that’s great and all, but are you RECRUITED??? :)

I don’t believe colleges recruit for piano. Anyway, the Carnegie Hall thing is great. You should go for ABRSM diploma, because for someone at your level I think you could pass easily. Still, it doesn’t really matter as you are already great. I suggest taping you playing the piano as your art supplement. How long have you played?

There are also tons of Asian kids who are worse off than you who now feel like complete failures…

^^haha no, of course you can’t get recruited for piano. I just get really tired of people thinking being recruited is the only way athletics matter on apps. I would not really worry about other asians, it’s only worth worrying about if you’re not that good and kinda middle of the pack, but carnegie hall is a very special distinction that not many can say they’ve done before.

You’re a shoo in
