Is this ENOUGH? D:

Here are the EC's I have of to date:
-Green Club Treasurer
-French club
-photography club

these are the clubs/activities that I will attend (if offered) by the end of sophomore year:
-Anytown
-Host a charity Fashion show
-Become a teacher aid

I constantly read chance threads where people do amazing things. I don't know if mine will compare with theirs. I would really like to go this this school for biomedical engineering

Also, I really don't have many community service hours. Will that affect my chances? Like I will have a lot of ECs/Clubs, but little volunteer work?

if you can tell a good story about why you do the EC’s you do in your essays, you’ll have a decent shot.

if you want a much better shot, get a biomedical engineering internship over the summer, design and conduct your own experiment with some guidance, submit it to siemens or sts (isef is too late), and get at least semifinalist status.

That’s great! Next year I’ll be attending a biomedical engineering program at a local university!

But like I said before, I don’t have many volunteer hours (in fact, one to date, probably.) will that affect my chances to columbia? I might volunteer at a library for 60 hours this summer… But is that enough?

“Enough” is subjective, and while 60 hours is not a lot compared to some students, 60 is better than 1.

Yeah. The thing is, I don’t do much volunteering because I have work, homework, SAT prep, etc. So if I have zero hours of volunteering and a 7-weeks internship to a biomedical program & 9 APs, will it make up for it?
