As a successful BBA grad I would disagree "The BBA is not valuable from an educational standpoint, but it is very helpful for networking/recruiting purposes. " When I was in school the BBA curriculum and MBA curriculum were very similar. The MBA opens more doors in the Fortune 500 but it really depends upon what you want to do. Most of what you learn will be outdated by the time you apply it in a job anyways. The best stuff you will learn in school is how to approach and solve problems, not what the answers are. A BBA can give you that just fine. If you want to work in an Ad Agency or Wall Street or a Fortune 500 company then an MBA will help get that door open.
