My son (he's a junior) and I are trying to plan out all the SAT tests, subject tests and AP tests he will have to take this year. We are trying our best to spread them out here and there so he won't be stuck with everything all at once. I read some previous posts that suggested that the October SAT and the March SAT are harder than the others and January is the easiest. Is this even true?

no :) it's not.

no, it's not true.

Nope, not true.

My personal suggestion, for subject tests, take them at the June date for subjects you had in an AP class- that way, you don't have to worry about them until after the AP test is done, and it'll be easiest to study at that point.

Thanks for the input, guys.
Funny, the stuff you read on C.C.
One post stated that "October SAT's are harder because Collegeboard knows that it is a last-ditch effort by seniors" another stated that "March SAT's are harder because it is for the National Merit Scholarship" and the other one I read stated that "January is the best time to take the SAT because Collegeboard recycles old tests for the January slot and fewer people take it"
Is there anybody out who has heard this stuff too?

its all just rumors, dont listen to it lol

yeah, you hear it. it sort of just gets passed around. sometimes the blind lead the blind :)

All editions of the SAT are developed using the same test specifications. Even if there are tiny differences in difficulty from test to test, a statistical process called "equating" ensures that a score for a test taken on one date or at one place is equivalent to a score for a test taken on another date or in another place. The rumors that the SAT in one month, say in October, is easier, are false.

here you go.

Good catch, finding the relevant section of the SAT FAQ.
