So my math teacher allows people who fail their tests to retake it for full credit, but people who get a passing grade can't retake it.

Do you think its fair for a person to actually pay attention in class, do his homework to get a 90B and have that for the year then a person who got a 55 and slacked and gets to redo his test?

This just bothers me... cause I got a 92B while this kid got a 55, retook and got a 100... I know there's probably nothing i can do but sigh...

Yea That is unfair, some of my teachers do the same thing. In science class if you get lower than a 64 you get to retake it. I got a 63.5 my teacher rounded it up, and she didnt let me retake the test...

I believe it's fair. If you are paying attention in class and doing all your work then I don't see why you have any reason to complain because you should be getting excellent grades.

Your teacher may be giving failing students a second chance because failing grades look bad on the teachers previsions. Teachers don't want to fail their students because it makes their teaching look bad. Are the failing students taking the same test? If so then I see an unfair advantage for them since they saw their mistakes and knew what not to do next time. It is perfectly fair if they are taking a different test though.

It's the system, live with it. I know it is harsh but it is the reality us "entitlement gen kids" will have to face. A lot of things are fair, and if what you said is true it brutally unfair.

Go and make a petition and work against it constructively, otherwise roll with the waves.

Yeah, my teachers, if they do this, average the two grades. You have to have received a grade lower than a 60%, and can't receive a grade higher than a 75%.

that's absurd. go to your guidance counselor and principal immediately. maybe get the schoolboard involved. seriously that is going to hurt you dude. that's absurd and unfair brah

That's unfair. Usually schools allow kids who failed a test to retake for up to a C or something... up to 100% is ridiculous. I would check with school policy.

This is unfair, but what’s even more unfair is the fact that 92% is a B. Especially in a Math class where it’s easy to make careless mistakes, it’s unfair to penalize you that much(coming from a math whiz here).
