Is This Fair?

Why do you care? You still got an A. :)

I think that’s pretty unfair. But if you’re really concerned about your grades and HAVE to get an A, just purposely fail the test and retake it. I mean it shouldn’t be allowed, but since it is, why not take advantage of it? It’s like extra credit… but more dirty. You could just mark all of your answers one letter below what you think the real answer is, and then when you get home, review the material that you were unsure about. Later, when you take the test a second time, you can get an easy A.

And, wait, WHATS THIS?! Our hero has realized his profoundly helpful advice will fall on deaf ears, as the thread he posted in is >1 year old and was necro’d. T-T

Tests should not be allowed to be retaken, especially for full credit. We already have a serious case of grade inflation, so we certainly don’t need more people getting grades that they do not deserve.

In my AP US and AP Lang class, you can retake any test up to an 80%.

^That’s a fair system. I know we had the “Average the two grades together” thing when I was in 5th grade(final grade in elementary school in our system, unlike other K-6 schools) for social studies.

In my math class my teacher allows anyone to retake any one test per semester. After that she averages the two tests.

OP’s teacher seems somewhat unfair.

Many of the teachers in our middle school give you 1/2 of your points back if you do test corrections, which is open book.
