Is this GPA good considering my ranking?

<p>I go to a competitive high school. My Unweighted GPA is 3.45. My weighted is 3.9
I am ranked 141 out of 401.</p>

<p>It depends what school you are applying to. It will definitely affect you, but depending on the school, it could help or hurt you.</p>

<p>No offense meant, but the first thing that popped into my head was "Grade Inflation"</p>

<p>Honestly, GPA means nothing without a rank. What would you rather have:</p>

<p>--3.7 GPA, ranked 50/300
--3.5 GPA, ranked 20/300</p>

<p>Will your ranking affect you? That depends on where you apply. If you're gonna apply highly selective schools, being out of the top 25% is practically a deal breaker right there.</p>
